Google Docs' PDF Export is Terrible
In the file menu in Google Docs, there is a Download -> as PDF option. That option is a trap – it generates a PDF that looks fine, but the generated PDF won’t necessarily be parseable by whatever software the company you’re applying to is using to do preliminary filtering for candidates, and there are enough people using LLMs to spam applications every which way that some sort of preliminary filtering on the non-warm inbound is necessary.
